I was invited by Artstore (my employer) to take part in their new Made in Glasgow initiative, to promote Glasgow's creative community by offering them a space to display their work, and sell if for a month through the Queen Street Store.

I chose to illustrate the infamous Wellington Cone, that sits atop the statue of the Duke of Wellington outside the GoMA. For a long time this cone has represented Glasgow's basic level of artistic rebellion, constantly replaced by some unknown person, or persons when it has been removed by the council. It has become a tourist landmark all of its own, outweighing the pompous mounted statue of Wellington.

Tea Towels are synonymous with Scotland too, as a tourist item, so it was cool to get to make one of them.
